Developed by TQC Sheen, our paint testing specialist brand, the Mechanized Scratch Tester evaluates coating hardness through controlled scratch testing on coated metal panels. It’s ideal for measuring scratch and scuff resistance quickly and consistently.
Consistent, Mechanized Testing
The test panel moves at a constant speed of 35 mm/s under a tungsten carbide stylus, applying varying loads to simulate real-world conditions. A built-in meter helps identify when the stylus contacts the substrate. The motorized system ensures uniformity and repeatability between tests.
Weight Options & Scope of Supply
Supplied with a complete ISO 1518-1 weight set and 0.5 mm stylus, it allows flexible test configuration. Optional weight sets from previous standards are also available.
