Description

Precision Shore D Hardness Testing for Hard Materials

Developed by TQC Sheen, the PosiTector Shore Hardness Durometer SHD probe is designed for measuring the hardness of medium to extra hard materials classified under the Shore D scale—such as rubber, epoxies, hard plastics, PVC, and acrylic.

Understanding Shore Hardness

The Shore hardness test is a standardized method for quantifying a material’s resistance to indentation. The scale, introduced in the 1920s by Albert F. Shore, helps manufacturers assess the flexibility or hardness of various materials across different categories—including Shore A, D, H, and O. Shore D is typically used for more rigid and dense substances.

Accurate & Reliable Performance

This durometer features a measurement range of 0–100 Shore D with an accuracy of ±1 and a resolution of 0.1. The sharp indenter is made from hardened steel for long-lasting precision. The probe is shipped with a test block, protective rubber cap, and a NIST-traceable calibration certificate for confidence in every test.
