Description
The Laminar Flow Cabinet provides a clean, controlled workspace for handling samples and materials that require protection from airborne contamination. It uses HEPA-filtered, unidirectional airflow to continuously sweep particles away from the work area, helping maintain a clean environment for sensitive laboratory procedures.
Room air is drawn through a pre-filter before passing through the HEPA filter and entering the work chamber as a uniform stream of clean air. This controlled airflow helps minimise turbulence and prevents unfiltered room air from contaminating the samples, equipment or products inside the cabinet. Smooth interior surfaces also allow easy cleaning and support good laboratory practices.
The cabinet is suitable for media preparation, microbiological work with non-hazardous materials, electronics assembly, pharmaceutical preparation, tissue culture support, plant culture and other contamination-sensitive applications. Horizontal and vertical airflow configurations may be available to accommodate different processes and workspace requirements.
Depending on the configuration, the cabinet may include stainless steel work surfaces, adjustable airflow control, LED lighting, UV sterilisation, electrical outlets, pressure monitoring and service connections. Its ergonomic design provides good visibility and convenient access while supporting reliable, consistent performance.
Important: A laminar flow cabinet is designed to protect the sample or product only. It does not provide personnel or environmental protection and must not be used for hazardous chemicals, toxic substances, infectious materials or biohazards. A suitable fume cupboard or biological safety cabinet should be used for those applications.
